Baby Story- Mia
You remember Terri and Mike? The gorgeous family maternity session?? http://chantelsutberry.blogspot.com/2012/04/baby-story-stoff-2012.html
Well they have a beautiful baby girl now and I am pleased to share their baby story with you :)
So Terri was scheduled for a c-section at 7:30 am. I arrived about 6:30 to find Terri and Mike in great spirits.
Terri made sure to clear it with her doctor so that Mike and I could be in the operating room with her to witness the arrival of Mia. So Mike and I suited up and they took Terri back first to get her settled in and administer the epidural.
We waited....and waited...and waited. Terri's body was not accepting the epidural and a couple of hours had passed. We couldn't see her and we were worried but was assured by the doctor that she was in good humor and was in no pain. Finally the doctor came out and told us this just was not happening. They would have to knock her completely out and no one...not even Mike was allowed in the o.r. This was not what anyone wanted to hear. So back out of our suits and more waiting.
Finally baby Mia came out and the hospital was good enough to immediately bring Mia to Mike so he could cut the cord and watch her be weighed, cleaned up and bond with her while they did all her tests.
Mike was so sweet with Mia. He literally counted all her fingers and toes and touched her so gently speaking softly to her.
Finally they brought Terri in. Poor thing had not got to hold or even see her baby girl yet.
Mike brought Mia over to show Terri but she was still waking up from the anesthesia. She looked up and gave a weak smile and passed back out.
Mike stayed and held her hand and talked to her until he realized she was not coming to just yet. So it was time for a first bath!! I actually think she kind of enjoyed it :)
After she was all cleaned up Terri was waking up and was able to feed her.
And then she was introduced to her big brothers!! I don' think they knew what to do at first. They looked a little stunned.
But it didn't take long for them to get used to her.
And then their beautiful family was complete.
Terri, I am so privileged to have been a small part of your baby story. Blessings and happiness to you all :)
