Baby Story-Gavin

Amy and Jake are regulars here at Sutberry Photography. I have had the honor of photographing all their important life events. Their engagement session, wedding and I was thrilled to also have been invited to photograph their baby story. From maternity to labor and delivery of their first child, Baby Gavin, to Gavin's newborn session. We won't stop there of course but until their next major life changing event let me share some highlights of Gavin's baby story!!

Maternity

At the hospital Amy was fabulous as always. She was sitting up laughing and putting on make up when I walked in the door. For those of you who understand what it means to deliver a baby let me tell you Amy was at an 8 when I arrived. She sat at 8 for the next 6 hours or so. I lost track after a while. It was THE LONGEST I've ever waited for a baby to be born that was not my own!!! THIS IS NOT TYPICAL!!!! Under normal circumstances I spend about 2 hours or so at a delivery. Well atleast I really like Amy and Jake and their ENTIRE family was in the waiting room and I like them too. Bonus: I learned to play "Apples to Apples"

Labor & Delivery

One of the funniest moments as the intensity of labor started to kick in was when Jake said "Don't worry, it will all be over soon and you can sleep the whole night" Amy looked at him as if he had 4 heads and said "And who is going to breast feed you!?!?!?"

There really isn't much a man can do in these situations but be there and try to be sweet. Jake was awesome. Every time Amy did deep breathing Jake would too. After every push he gave her a "thumbs up" and asked if she needed water. He also hit her epidural so many times that the nurse cut him off LOL!!!

Almost a week later Baby Gavin was at home when I went to shoot his newborn session. I brought some of my winter decorations from home to jazz up his newborn session. I thought it turned out pretty stinkin' adorable!!

NEWBORN SESSION

We had to do something to represent baseball since Jake and Amy are huge fans!!

Gavin could not have asked to be born into a better family. You guys are going to have so much fun!!! I wish you all the best!!

Incredible Kid-Jack

Some of my favorite shoots are the ones where we just turn the little ones loose and let them play!!! Winter time keeps me shooting in doors for most of my sessions so a fun play place is the city museum!! There is so much to do there!!!! Jack was excited to try EVERYTHING!!! And ran from one end to the other exploring it all!! He and his family had such a blast!!! And I was happy to be there to capture it for them :)

Wedding-Casey & Jeff

Like so many modern bride and grooms, Casey & Jeff decided to see each other before their ceremony. The purpose of this is to have plenty of time for pictures and to get the nerves out of the way!! It's always a sweet moment!! The groom stands waiting for a tap on his shoulder which is his cue to turn around and behold his beautiful bride. His smile gets bigger and bigger as he hears her dress rustling behind him. When he turns they pause and take each other in...time stands still for a moment :) Then a big hug and kiss... some tears. Just her and him...and me (at a safe distance of course) It's lovely :)

Jeff was so overcome by emotion upon seeing Casey he literally had to look away from her!!

After that initial meeting it's time to bring out your bridal party and let the fun begin!! And take PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES!!!

Family-Rogers

Given the choice I'd prefer to shoot outdoors in the natural light with natural back drops on a gorgeous puffy-cloud filled day. However, here in The Lou the weather does not always cooperate. I love that Christi and her family said let's just find a fun indoor location and rock it out!!! There are many interesting indoor locations to do a cool family shoot. Check out Christi's family to show you how it's done!!

I can't tell you how near and dear this family is to me!!! Raquita is a fellow photographer (www.pinxitphoto.com) and an all-star friend!!! She and Mr. Jerry, her huggable hubby, and their 3 kiddos are irreplaceable in my heart!! This is gonna be a photo-heavy blog because Raquita's sister, her hubby and their beautiful little girl joined our family shoot. So for two shoots in one...you get two blogs in one!!!

This IS my friend. ALWAYS laughing about something!!!

Senior Session- Jake

I am so humbled when I see a young kid, like Gage, make such a brave and noble decision to serve their country. He is so kind and respectful. He knows just where he is going in life and how to get there!! I went to high school with his mom and dad. They have to be so proud of this amazing young man!! Thank you for your service Gage!! Senior Session Kelsie

It is Senior Day here at Sutberry photography!! First up is Kelsie!! (Jake and Gage are on deck for today) Kelsie was blessed and bummed by the blowing wind at her session. The wind does great things for a girl with long hair. However, it was COLD!!!!! But cold or not Kelsie hung in there and did a great job!! You are a very sweet girl and I wish you all the best in life. Have a great senior year :)

Ashley is such a sweet girl and each time I talk to her I like her more and more!! Her & Rick are getting married next October. I love all the plans and details she is choosing for her wedding day. I can't give away her secrets but it will be so cool!! I am excited to see it all come together!! We met for their e-session on one of the last colorful days this fall. It was such a blustery day but the two of them hung in there with me and we pulled off a really nice shoot in spite of the cold and the wind :)

Bill & Michele's wedding was one that I anticipated all year!!! Their reception was at The Mad Art Gallery in Soulard and is such an interesting/cool place to have a party!! www.madart.com The catering job Mad Art did was visually gorgeous as well as phenomenal in taste!! They also have interesting art and lighting that changes monthly and creates such a unique experience for the bride and groom and their guests!!! The couple had so many other cool details on their special day from Michele's dress to the most BEAUTIFUL flowers to the adorable kids in the wedding party that I could not get enough of :) The two of you have such wonderful style and amazing taste!! Reception- Mad Art is an old police station that is now an art gallery!! So the cell is still intact and makes for fun photo opportunities!!

Incredible Kids-Kela & Kyan

Every year I look forward to shooting my favorite little fashionista, Kela and her big brother Kyan. These two are not only stylish and adorable but are two of the sweetest kids you ever want to meet!! They have the best manners and hugs to spare. This year when I met with them Kela presented me with a sculpture that she created herself. She is soooo artistic so that piece now sits in a prominent space in my office and I LOVE it :) I can't say enough good things about the kids and their mommy and daddy. They are a very special family to me.

These next few I could not choose between so....you get to pick your favorite :) I think if Kela decides to put out a cd this year any one of these could be the cover LOL. Somehow these just make me want to sing Fleetwood Mac songs :)

And here is the art piece Kela created for me. I've gotten many Thank you notes from clients over the years and I appreciate them and keep them all. However, I must say this is the coolest Thank You I have EVER gotten!!! Thank YOU Kela!!

How cute is this family!!! I love Camden and his big loopy curls!!! I get it!!! I can't part with my little guys curly locks either:) And the precious little girl in her too cute outfit is an absolute joy!! The fact that big brother gives her a kiss that makes her cry and him crack up laughing makes me smile!!! I am so glad we FINALLY got a date that worked with our busy schedules and could make this happen!! I love the results it was a great session!!!!

Get ready for a blog-a-polozza!! You are going to be inundated this week with at least a post a day!! My shooting season is finally winding down and now it is time to edit, edit, edit and share!!! Today I have the Cope family's session for you!! This was a great session because, as you will see, big sis was not into it so much!! And that's ok!! I think these real moments makes for GREAT family memories so much more than sitting up straight with a fake smile on your kids face. I love the spontaneity and genuine laughs...and cries :) It's life...Enjoy!!!

Wedding-Annie & Andy

They were married this October at St. Bonafice in Edwardsville and had the coolest reception at the St. Louis Planetarium!! The reception was a "green reception" which meant that all the food, beverages and the wild flowers that were used as table decorations were all home grown and produced right here in The Lou!! This is a photo-heavy blog because it's the night before Thanksgiving and I know they will be with family tomorrow and wanting to show off pics!! Let's get started!!

Tonya and Terry are so kind and pretty darn wise if you ask me. They got engaged and set a date but soon realized the pressures of planning the perfect day was more than they were ready for at this time. They have decided to slow down a bit and enjoy their engagement period a little longer. I am so proud of them for the decision they made to wait on God's timing and have the perfect day they dream of a little later down the road. God is never early and certainly never late. When your big day comes I am wishing it to be everything you want and more. I loved meeting you both and shooting your engagement session. I hope I can also be there to capture your special day!

Mandy and Brian are Vegas bound for their upcoming nuptials. Although I don't get to make the trip with them they did ask me to shoot their e-session as well as their reception that will take place in December!! We had a beautiful day for pictures. We started at one of their favorite spots, the bowling alley, and finished up in a picturesque field that is so perfect for an autumn shoot. These two are so sweet together and Mandy is just about the nicest person you ever want to meet. I am so happy for the two of you. Lauri & Drew are the most All-American couple I can think of!!! He is a firefighter and she is a pre-school teacher!! They are one of those couples who would sit on the same side of the booth in a restaurant. Laurie said she wanted some romantic pictures of the two of them for their engagement session. I couldn't get them to stop laughing long enough to get a lot of those dramatic pictures I think she was talking about. And I'm glad because I got to document the two of them laughing and having fun. What is more ROMANTIC than that :) Enjoy!!

Andrew and Donisha are getting married next summer and I am fortunate enough to be their photographer. For their E-session we took advantage of a gorgeous autumn day!!

How flawless is Donisha's skin. My talented friend Jewell of "Looks By Jewell" did her make up. Great job!!

I always encourage my families to just have fun during their session and these two definitely crack each other up!!

Maternity-Amanda and Steve

So Steve, Amanda and I are long time friends. In fact I met Amanda in Jr. High and she was one of my best friends in high school. I could tell you some stories...but I won't ;) So all though they did not date in high school, they find themselves together now!!! And they are so right for each other it just makes sense. And I was honored to document their maternity session :)

Amanda has two older children who look so much like how I remember her in Jr. High. They are really good kids Amanda!! You've done a great job with them :)

And Steve fits right in! What a great family!!

Mile's Babystory

The Cardinals are in the World Series and Baby Miles and his parents are HUGE Cardinal fans!! So this Babystory post could not have come at a better time :) But more about that in a minute. Let's go back and start with their maternity session in the city.

Maternity

I'm at my best when I'm able to capture the emotion of my subjects and really show the love between them. These two were just naturally into each other. It makes for a really relaxed atmosphere and great images!!!

We grabbed a few shots at the stadium too!!

Now I regret to say that for the first time ever... I missed the birth :( I tried my best to get there. They gave her meds to push the labor along and by the time I got there I was just in time to capture baby Miles having his first meal...

These first few hours of life are precious and I am glad I was there to witness them and document these sweet moments.

Newborn Session

So about a week later I came to visit the new family at their home. I just love all the cute details in Mile's nursery.

Now back to the thing about the Cardinals. OK so tonight is game 6 and us St. Louis fans are hoping for a win!!!! Especially Mile's daddy. He told me the year he was born The Cards won the World Series (82) so he thought it only appropriate that his first son should also be born in a Cardinal World Series Winning year too!!!

You have such a nice family Miles!! Thanks for letting me come over and play baseball with you :)

On this most recent shoot with them I was so surprised to see their little baby Sam getting so big already!!! Gosh they really do change fast!!!

The two gorgeous girls are Isabella and Katie. They are just as adorable as ever!!

But the focus of this shoot was to show off big boy Sam, who is sitting up now!!!!!

This pic makes me want to chunk his cheeks!!! He's such a happy little guy :)

And he loves his Daddy!!!

And Mommy too!!!!

Now with parents that look like these two you can see how there was not a chance for these kids to be anything less than gorgeous :) Wow Emily!!!! You look good!!!!

Pria's Baby Story

This is a special baby story to me because I met the mommy to be in kindergarten!!!! I haven't talked to her for years and years but was so blessed that she called me and asked me to document her baby story :)

MATERNITY-

I'm sorry Rick did you mention that you are not comfortable in front of a camera???

what's that you say Rick? You hate to smile what????? Well I think you guys look like pros!!!! Gotcha Rick :)

Now Treena and Rick did lose a baby Jan. 11th of 2010...a baby girl named Mika who they love and miss everyday.

They have a tradition in their family where once a month on the 11th, the day their 1st little girl was born, they write messages on balloons and send them up into the sky to her. We met for their session on the 11th and I was privileged to witness this special way they honor her memory.

This blog post comes at a special time of year for those who have lost little ones as October is Pregnancy and infant loss awareness month.

Now the day came for Baby Pria to make her apperance. Treena was in good spirits when I arrived and was ready to have her baby girl!!!

LABOR/DELIVERY

And your friendly neighborhood photographer was ready too :0

So the nurses came and took us back where Treena was scheduled for a C-Section.

A quiet moment for the anxious daddy to be.

In the surgery room Treena was still smiling and ready to go!!

And just like that, there she was!!!! Love the clock in the back ground!!!

Moments after Pria arrived....

As quick as she came the nurses whisked her away to monitor her. Here the doctors lift her up for the family to get a peek at this precious new arrival.

Treena finally got to hold her long awaited, sweet baby girl.

Their family is complete :)

NEWBORN SESSION

About a week later I visited Pria and her mommy and daddy at home.

It didn't take her too long to get good and sleepy :)

If I ever have a little girl I MUST get one of these giant flowers for her hair LOL!!!! You guys are a wonderful family and I am so fortunate to have been able to share this special time in your lives. I hope you enjoy these beautiful moments :)

When I was contacted to shoot the Jackson's family session I was thrilled to learn that they would be bringing their vintage truck!! What is more fun than a vintage truck and a gorgeous family?!?!??!

I love little boys!!!! I have two myself so I totally "get" them :)

Hailey's Baby Story

I do love a baby story!!! I met Sarah and Doug back in July for the 1st of their 3 baby story sessions, obviously starting with....

MATERNITY

LABOR/DELIVERY

LOL Now please don't hate me for that Sarah. I don't mean to tease you but you had a rough time didn't you :(

Doug was right there the whole time looking on in concern, holding your hand, rubbing your back, giving you kisses...I only say this because I'm not sure if you remember with all that you had going on!! It was INTENSE!!!

Your sister also looked on and was so concerned for you! What a great family you have :)

NEWBORN SHOOT

This is where the term "sleeping like a baby" comes from :) She was not disturbed by anything!

When she did wake up, she was bright eyed and just as happy as could be :)

And I love this shot...she found her foot and thought it was funny :0

Senior Session- Keleigh

I went to high school with Jeff and Laurie who were high school sweethearts! After all this time they are still together and have the most beautiful daughter, Keleigh who I was privileged to meet and photograph for her senior year shoot!

This is not the first time this has happened but it's always strange to me that people I knew in high school could actually have a kid in high school!! She is a perfect mixture of 1 part Jeff and 1 part Laurie!!!

She has a cool personality and I know she gets that from her parents :) But I'm pretty sure she's smarter than we were at that age guys ;)

I hope you had a good time Keleigh!! You were brave to climb up here for me LOL!!!!

Family-Ringering

Check out Miss Nora who has recently turned one :) I just love her baby blues!!

And she had the cutest outfit on from her little sprakly sandals to her great big bow. Of course she refused to wear the bow and actually ended up launching it in the lake. Her mommy was not thrilled about that :)

After she changed into her fluffy birthday skirt (new bow) she was ready to dance and play....

E-Session Annie & Andy

Andy & Annie are one of the most relaxed couples I have worked with. The fact that they are so laid back and so clearly in love made it very easy to do their e-session and makes me very excited for their October wedding day!!!

I hope your mom can handle this one Annie, it's a little steamy LOL!!!!

I'm sure I told you several times that day but I think your outfit here is adorable!! Great choice!!

Their reception is going to be held at the Planetarium in the city. I've never shot there before so that's just another exciting aspect of their wedding day!! Everything from the flowers to food and beverages are homegrown right in St. Louis. And as you can see by Annie's gorgeous ring these two have great taste so I'm sure it will be wonderful!!!

Erica and Ray were married on one of the hottest days of the summer but in spite of the heat...Erica kept her cool (bad pun just couldn't resist) LOL!!! Anyway check out the gorgeous wedding day highlights :)

The ceremony was so beautiful. The church was gorgeous, Erica was gorgeous and her priest had this cool African accent. Everything went very smooth and easy.

After the ceremony we did not spend a lot of time out doors because of the intense heat but we got in some great shots anyway.

Kady's Birthstory

Sutberry Photography would like to welcome Miss Kady to the world with her official birthstory blog :) It begins back in June at a sweet little maternity session with Kady's parents patiently awaiting her arrival.

I've been told that back in the day men would wait for baby out in the lobby while smoking cigars. The modern man not only stays in the room but also helps out with the delivery, cuts the cord and sends out the all important text messages to family members anxious for the happy news!!

Mommy still has the hard part though ;)

And here she is...

Her daddy laughed and cried at the same time

She weighed 7lbs. and 1oz.

Had all 10 fingers...

all 10 toes...

lots of hair...

and quite an opnion :)

But soon she was just as content as could be safe in the arms of her new mommy and daddy!!

About a week later Kady was adjusting happily in her new home.

Katie & James broke from tradition and saw each before the ceremony!!! I actually love when my brides decide to do this because we can get the formalities and the nerves out of the way and get straight on with the fun!!!! You can create a special and private moment as you can see Katie and James did, and it was lovely :)

After the shock of seeing each other for the first time in their wedding attire they had a little gift exchange.

After that they hopped in their limo and off to the coolest location for a ceremony...Bilbery Farms. (And YES, that IS a REAL giant white peacock in the front yard)

This place is so great and comes complete with all kinds of exotic animals and birds...some of which roam freely throughout the grounds.

Pheobe is one of my all time favorite clients!!! Her and her family are so great! And what a little doll she is, I could take pictures of her all day long!!!

The last time I took her pictures she was 9. Now at 11 years old I could not believe how grown up and beautiful she has become!

And she still has a great laugh!!

Wedding-Cara & David

Cara & David are married!!!! David is a good friend of my husband so I was extra happy to be a part of this one!

As Cara waited to walk down the isle her dad kept her calm and laughing.

A little flashback...You may remember from their engagement session that they are HUGE hockey fans!!!

So back to their wedding day they had 2 ring bearers. One, a sweet little boy who was slightly put out LOL...

And the other an actual BEAR...Louie, the Blues mascot to be exact!! When he walked down the isle it caused quite a commotion!!!

Then it was time for Cara and her dad to make their appearance.

And David looked just as happy and proud of his beautiful bride as could be.

The shot below was during a prayer. I thought it was so sweet how tightly they held on to each other. David rubbed Cara's hand with his thumb through this and the entire ceremony. I may be a little sentimental today since it is my 10th year anniversary but, I remember my husband doing the same thing during our ceremony.

The sun was sort of moving in and out of the clouds and the wind was making it feel even colder but we got in as many outdoor shots as we could.

The girls...I love that all their dresses were different to show off their individual personalities!!!

And who else can say that Louie was in their wedding party!!!

Cara had THE BIGGEST bouquet I think I have ever seen!!!

And a special broach was attached to it. I really like those little personal touches on the bouquet.

It was sooooo cold and the wedding party was already inside having fun. So Cara decided to throw out all our picture plans and cut the cake and eat dinner instead of making her whole wedding party stay out for pictures. OK by me Cara it's your day and we will go with the flow :)

After dinner it seemed to warm up and the sun had a lovely golden glow to it. Cara says 'Do you think me, you and David could just sneak off for a bit and do some fun pics? Your wish is my command Cara!!! I was happy to do it and we got some fun shots!!!

ME: 'Can you sit or are you worried about your dress? I think it's dry there' CARA: 'Nope I want cool pictures, it's fine'

My gosh that is the best kind of bride :)

Wedding-Nikki & Greg

Nikki and Greg got married on the most beautiful day this April had to offer.

My friend, and make up artist extraordinaire, Jewell was on staff that day as Nikki's personal assistant. She did a great job on her make-up and was at her beck and call well into the reception. She always does a fantastic job if you are ever in need of her expertise I highly recommend her...Nikki would too ;)

Nikki seemed ok she was a little more on edge than her normal self but she was still laughing...

and then her dad walked in...

and the water works were full on :) Mom and Nikki both!! I love moments like these and its such an honor to be a witness to it :)

and someone said "Ok Nikki, it's time to go" I honestly thought you might faint...poor thing.

But she held on tight to her dad and made it afterall :) Now this was all very touching to me because I KNOW Nikki is a big ole' daddy's little girl :) It was really sweet to see.

Greg waited patiently but ya know...he looks like he may pass out too!!!! LOL!!!

The tears turned to laughter pretty quick when the Pastor made the mistake of calling Greg by his twin brother's name :0

and more laughter when the pastor asked Nikki if she would take Greg to be HER "lawfully wedded WIFE" He was a hoot!!!

E-Session Shavonne & Charles

Shavonne and Charles are officially engaged and Sutberry Photography has officially rocked Chicago ;) We started the day in front of the location of their downtown ceremony/reception...

Of course back in "The Lou" it was a gorgeous 75 degrees but in the windy city it was WINDY, COLD and FREEEEEEEZING!!!!

So, my beautiful September bride Shavonne, puts on her best smile and in the most positive "WE ARE DOING THIS TODAY" voice says "let's rock some rain gear!!!!"

I can't tell you how much I dig this girl...Oh and you too Charles! They are stylish, fun, positive and up for anything :)

I think this shot is adorable but just about everything we did was adorable. I even had a stranger stop and ask if they were models ;)

When it rained harder we had to take a break and find a cool indoor space.

Praise God, the sun actually came out and it warmed just enough to give us a little relief so we took off for Millennium Park.

In the square is this mirrored bean shaped sculpture. It's kind of tricky to photograph because there are tons of people around but it's a pretty cool object so we tried it out.

Now here is a sassy girl ;) LOVE IT!!!!

Aubrey and Joey are married!!!!! We started out the day at Aubrey's mom's house for make-up and hair.

Aubrey's daughter was all about the lip gloss, the dress and the flowers...

Her son was all about the electronics and not at all into his tux :)

Hannah was a little shy once she started down the isle but big brother, Timothy was right there holding on to her. It was so sweet.

Then it was time for Aubrey...a little tearful and a lot joyful :)

Joey was also tearful...and joyful too.

The wedding was in Springfield where they are from so Aubrey had picked out a really cool location to do some outdoor pics before the reception.

I'm experimenting with a fun little lens :) Kinda cool huh?

Did I mention this was the coldest day in the history of cold?!?!?!?! I'm exaggerating but it was very cold and the kids were such troopers... everyone was :)

I think Aubrey and Joey were so happy to finally be married that they hardly noticed the cold

But we did duck into Starbucks for a minute. Joey's favorite :)

At the reception Aubrey gave a really sweet speech and told her new hubby how much she loved him and was so proud to be his wife.

The garter removal was interesting LOL!!! Joey pulled a pink rabbit and an orange lizard out of Aubrey's dress before he pulled off her garter. She had no idea he was going to do that so it was pretty funny :)

The night went on with lots of dancing and a fun party :)

E-Session Erica & Ray

I'm so in love with this engagement session!!! Erica and Ray are real troopers for braving the cold and making this a great day!!

Erica is the OPPOSITE of BRIDEZILLA!! She's as nice as she can be and just gorgeous too!!

Favorite??? Maybe..I really love their session so it's difficult to say :)

You would not believe how cold it was the day of their shoot but, I think they do a great job keeping it hot LOL!!!!

There was the tiniest little pop of green to remind us that warmer days are ahead!!! Now on the day of their July wedding if anyone hears me even whimper about it being too hot out...well just tell me to SHUT IT!!!!

Melissa and Nick are an absolute pleasure to be around and I loved taking their engagement photos!! They are so genuinely happy together that they made my job a breeze :) Look at her gorgeous smile...perfection!

When I say they are so happy to be together I'm not exaggerating or being flowery either. They are truly constantly smiling and just naturally fall into each other. Nick also naturally puts his hands in Melissa's hair which she tells me he does all the time :) I think that's adorable!

The breeze just perfectly caught her hair here!!! That makes me very happy :)

Incredible Kid-Sofia

Being raised by my grandparents gave me a special fondness for all things vintage. When Angie invited me to her mom and dad's house to photograph her little girl Sofia, I was thrilled to see the house was filled with antiques!! The furniture reminded me of my grandma so much!! I am in love with the couch you see below and the little girl sitting on it is an absolute baby-doll!!!!

What would a visit to Grandma's house be without some hard candy in a little vintage dish :)

Or fake fruit to nibble on :)

It has been pretty darn cold lately but the sun was out so we took just a little walk outside. Special thanks to Sofia's big brother for giving me a tour of his grandma's backyard.

E-Session Cara and David

Here at Sutberry Photography it is not often that we look backward but continually move forward learning new things and meeting new people! However...I must admit I got a little behind this fall and although ALL my clients got their images on time I did miss out on blogging a few of those sessions. One really cute session that got lost in the blur that was my autumn season, was future Mr. and Mrs. and HUGE Blues Hockey fans, Cara and David.

We started out at The Scott Trade Center

They like to be silly which I always appreciate :) You're a good sport David!! I just know their April wedding will be as fun as they are!

Then we were off to the park. I love that they included their dog in our session!

Remember how cold we thought it was that day!?! As I sit here today with it being 20 degrees out and a solid sheet of snow and ice on the ground...I'm thinking it wasn't as cold as we might have thought after all.

Funny though I don't think you look cold... In fact I think this one is pretty smokin' hot ;)

I am really excited for April! It's really not that far away!!!

Johnson Family

You may remember Isabella from a shoot we did that took place last spring...

Well now she has a new baby brother named Sam and their mom and dad had me over to photograph the latest addition to the family. As you will see we ended up with a really fun family session that included mom and dad and their beautiful girls Katie and Isabella.

Sam was bright eyed and ready to go when I got there.

The girls didn't stick around long before Katie decided it was time to go play. So off they went to jump on the beds and of course I followed.

It seems my little hiatus is over and a new year is afoot for Sutberry Photography!! I'm re-charged and looking forward to a brilliant 2011!! So, let's kick this new year off with a gorgeous little girl whose great big personality is sure to put a smile on your face today...meet Baby Ahna :)

I am so blessed to have such beautiful brides for the 2011 season!!! Melissa is no exception :)

The light was so perfect and Melissa and Chris are so loving and comfortable with each other!! These are the days where my job is actually as easy as it would seem.

This one must be Melissa's favorite as I have noticed it is her new profile picture on facebook ;) I love it too Melissa!!

Family- Craigmiles

The Craigmiles family is just about as adorable as they come!!!! I just loved their family session and am so pleased to be able to share it with you now that my BLOG IS BACK UP AND RUNNING!!!!! Hooray!

At first Nolan was not sure what to think about the whole photo session idea...

But by the end of it he was pretty comfortable with me, my camera...and himself as you can see LOL!!!!

Engagement Session-Katie and James

So I had mentioned in my previous post that several of my brides were all using the same super-talented make-up artist, Jewell. Here is one of those brides to be, Katie, getting her "LOOKS BY JEWELL" on!!!

Since Jewell works out of BELLA RAGAZZA, right across the street from the old Widley Theater ;) we started their for a few quick shots.

(I hope my friends at Bella Ragazza appreciate the shameless plug) LOL

Gorgeous! Katie, I know I must have said it 10 times that day but I gotta tell you again you look amazing girl!

I really dig the colors she went with and I think it rocks with my blue wall that I love so much!!

So then we went out to the park to get in a family shot!! I think you can guess who did NOT want to be there :)

This was just about THE only tree of the year that has really been bursting with color!!! So glad we found it :)

Engagement Session-Nikki and Greg

Guess who's getting married April 2nd!!!?!?!??!!? Nikki and Greg that's who!!!!

Since Greg is a HUGE Cardinal fan we agreed Busch Stadium would be the perfect place to start their engagement session!

So we walked around and took a little tour of the stadium

and ended up on top of the dug out...

and at home plate!

And since we were there we had a little fun outside the stadium as well.

Autumn is upon us so we wanted to make sure to get out and enjoy the fall leaves also.

Wedding-Jake & Amy

Amy is the cousin of my sister-in-law. When she told me Amy was getting married I thought 'isn't that the 13 year old little girl who baby sat your kids on MY wedding day?' ?!?!?!?!? Oh yeah that was 10 years ago I guess she IS old enough to be married!!!

We started out the day at Amy's house. Below you see Amy's bridal survival kit...plenty of make-up, blackberry, camera, mp3, RED BULL and coffee!!!!

And I can't say for sure but this could quite possibly be a mimosa in this giant goblet she's holding! lol!!!

Amy made all her bridesmaids necklaces herself.

At the church Amy's mom and her friends help her get into her dress.

Someone said "It's a girl" as she came bursting through. hahaha!

And isn't she beautiful! I love how Mary is looking on behind her :)

Everything was timed so perfectly that as soon as she got in her dress Jake arrived and so did the guests!

Earlier in the year Amy's dad had a stroke and it was very scary for her and her family for awhile. I was so happy for Amy to see her dad walk her down the isle! And I know Amy was so grateful to have him there with her.

And when he stood to kiss her and give her away to Jake I don't think there was a dry eye...including my own!

I thought it was interesting that they literally let the ring bearer carry the rings.

There were so many sweet little moments during the ceremony...I'm real partial to Grandma's so these were so special.

And Amy I don't know if you knew this because you were at the alter but your other grandma just prayed and prayed for you. It was so moving to me...

and your friends prayed...

and your dad.

In fact, your mom and dad were pretty emotional. This is the 2nd time I teared up during the day. There was a third time too but I'll tell you about that in a minute :)

Then we got into trouble :-/ Oh it started off nice enough...

And we were having fun!!!

And Amy was gorgeous...

But then the City Garden security came along and tried to kick us out for walking on their lawn that had been roped off by pink tape!!! I mean it seemed harmless enough it was PINK tape not RED no sign said DO NO CROSS...Sure it was implied but really???? It's the girls wedding day and I'm sorry but PINK tape just does not seem that threatening.

So the guard said that SOMEONE from our group had offended him with profanity??? Hmmmmm OUR GROUP????? Surely NOT!!! But he was seriously asking us to leave the park and even brought his supervisor!!!! Then Jake came to Amy's rescue but Amy needed no rescuing she was calm cool and collected and completely assumed control of the situation.

I think by the end of it all they may have even apologized to her!!! Moral of the story...Don't mess with Amy on her wedding day!!

On to the reception...

First dance...

Then for the 3rd time I cried...along with everyone else in the room. Amy's dad was able to get up and dance with her. Amy I actually got teary just editing these.

I understand this is a REALLY long blog post but there were so many interesting things that happened this day...like The bouquet toss :) The girls were already ready to rumble before Amy even picked up the bouquet LOL!!!

Then lots of dancing!!

And the last pic i took of the night was a special request from Amy's dad. He wanted a shot of Jakes mom and dad's wedding ring hands along with his and his wife's as well as Jake and Amy. I think it's a lovely idea! These two families are now one :)

Amy I LOVED your wedding day! It was touching and funny and fun and just EVERY good thing that it could possibly be! Blessings and a lifetime of love to you and Jake!!!

Wedding-Alex and Angie

I met Alex and Angie through a mutual friend and I am so happy that I did. Since she hired me to photograph her wedding we actually ended up becoming friends! Her and Alex are just the most down-to-earth sweet couple and are just wonderful together!! I'm so pleased to have been there to document their big day and to be able to share some highlights with you now :)

Blending families is not always the easiest thing to do but Alex and his son and two daughters seem to fit in seamlessly with Angie and her two girls. I think they make a BEAUTIFUL family!!!

And Alex and Angie make a perfect couple!

Cherry Family

I just love wild curls on little kids! Boys or girls, it doesn't matter and the wilder the better (remind me later to post pics of my own crazy haired boys :) So I instantly fell in love with little miss Ava, the precious baby girl in the Cherry Family!!

I don't think she knew what to think of me at first but she warmed up really quick when she realized I like to play just as much as her!

And she is just as happy as can be!!!

This is probably my favorite shot!! I'm telling you Erin this would be my Christmas Card!!! How perfect is this!!

I'm a sucker for great big eyes too!!! Hers are just as deep and brown as they can be!!

Newborn Alie and her big brother Donnie are quite the pair. I don't think either one of them particularly wanted to be photographed but I love how their fall time session turned out! Take a peek and tell me if you agree :)

He's as cute as can be don't you think? I can assure you he was much more interested in Spider-Man than anything to do with picture day :)

He was also only vaguely interested in what his new sis was doing...

Kelsey's Senior Session

During a photo session I sometimes have to work a little to get people to come out of their shell. With my latest super cute senior KELSEY, this could not be further from the truth!!! In fact I actually had to reign her in a little!!!!!

She did actually slow down for a minute to show a serious side...

But it was just for a minute!!! Her friends had come along too and we had to get them in a few shots too and do some more silly stuff!!

Kelsey, It is my greatest hope that one day you can learn to not be so shy and awkward. You really need to work on your self esteem ;) HAHAHAHHAHA!!!!

So I have been having the worst luck with technology lately. I finally got my computer back from "The Mac Experts"!!!! So far it looks like everything is getting back to normal so I have a lot of catching up to do....
